Canines in Addorsed Stance pre-Islamic Persia 5.4cm

Canines in Addorsed Stance with Head Crest Appendages & Gold Inlay 5.4cm.  These two dog-like animals are in a rare and interestingly contorted juxtaposition with half the body addorsed and half not; on first impression they would appear to be  addorsed or back to back.  Upon close examination, however, the heads and the hips and legs are addorsed, but the arms and chest are oriented frontally.   And there is a crested appendage on each head, the ends of which touch and form a hole for suspension.  Overall, the object appears to have strong pre Islamic Persian influence.
